Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev- Quickstep Eliminated- 8th
Heat Wave by Martha and the Vandellas
Score: 8, 7, 7, 7 (29)
My Score: 7
1-855-234-5606
Ms. Patti Patti always brings the fire! I honestly thought that her Jazz routine would be the pinnacle of her abilities, but I was wrong! Patti's Quickstep was her best technical dance that she has ever done (even with only one heel)! The Quickstep didn't actually start until about halfway into the dance, but do any of mind at all by this point? Patti handled her wardrobe malfunction well, and she ended on a high note!
The A-Team has done it again! Willow has some amazing Latin moves, and her hips were out of control-- even with extra ribs! :P This Salsa had a different feel from their other dances, and I really liked it. The theme was fun, Willow's acting was great, and the mojo was held on throughout the time on the dance floor.Shed did, however, seem hesitant, and her knees could have been more straight.
Am I the only one that thought that Kym looked like Barbie? Robert could have pulled off as Ken, too! :D Robert always has fun, but it always bothers me how his mouth is always open when performing (just a small note :P). I love Robert, and I am always disappointed and feel bad for him when he messes up. It is obvious that his flicks could have been strong, and it is inevitable that he did not quite match or catch up to Kym. Luckily, his great personality benefits him on stage. My only concern is whether he can make it to week eight or not.
It's too bad that Noah got too in his head after his video package because this, to me, was his best dance. Once again, his hips were great, but he still needs to improve on his arm. It feels as though he only has musicality during certain types of movements since he is very inconsistent with how he creates his lines and shapes. I hope that Noah and Sharna learn for this, because if they don't step it up soon, it is very likely that they could be eliminated.
Oh, boy. Although I do think that this couple got screwed over with the song they were given, I do think that it could have been performed better. In my opinion, Rumer just walked from side of the stage to the other, and then got lifted in the air by Val. It was very Hip-Hop, but I did not like her feet at all. Unlike Len, I did like the raunchiness. She can move it, so I think that she can work it. Even though I am in the minority, I think that all four judges gave fair scores to Rumer, considering what they look for in dances.
Finally! In week three, Julianne told Chris that he made a comeback, but I actually think that this week was his time to shine. He finally seemed focused, and actually had a little fun when performing his Viennese Waltz. I still am a little irritated how Chris does not fill up the room when he dances. I really want to see him challenged, especially because week seven is coming up. This Viennese Waltz did remind me of Chris's Rumba in week four, but this was a big improvement since that week.
Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough- Tango
Summer by Calvin Harris
Score: 9, 8, 8, 9 (34)
My Score: 9
1-855-234-5604
I think that Nastia is a fierce competitor, but she is sometimes too overcome with her emotion and passion. It seemed like she was chasing the music, and she was departing with Derek in more ways than one. As the judges said, she lacked a deep connection with Derek, and her frame was sloppy as certain (minor) hectic points. The scores do look a little low, but that's why there are four judges, right? Nastia has definitely improved since week one, and she has really used her gymnast skills to her advantage. Oh, and that back bend was sick!
Willow Shields and Mark Ballas- Salsa
Tequilla by Xavier Cugat
Score: 9, 8, 8, 9 (34)

Riker Lynch and Allison Holker- Samba
Want to Want Me by Jason Derulo
Score: 10, 8, 9, 10 (37) Highest Pair Score of the Night
My Score: 9

I am so conflicted with this dance. I do give Riker and Allison props for what they had to go through, but something about this Samba bothered me. I don't mean to be so harsh on this couple, but I know that Riker can improve from this. Just to put this out there, the costumes and set seemed a little blah to me, but that's not what they are judged on. There were a few uh-ohs from time to time, and Riker did step as if this was a Hip-Hop routine. I don't think that Latin dances are his strong point because just like week three, he seemed too smooth, and did not have enough power and strength.
Team YOLO- Freestyle
Nastia and Derek, Willow and Mark, Robert and Kym, Noah and Sharna
Wipeout by The Surfaris
Score: 10, 9, 10, 10 (39) Highest Team Score of the Night
My Score: 10
I usually prefer one team over another when it comes to the team dances, but I loved both of them this season! This really shows how high the competition is this season, and makes the contestants more and more determined to try their best. Th teams were so unique, and I loved the different themes to them. Team YOLO really showcased how fun and energetic they can be on the dance floor. Willow really popped, Noah kept stable while showing his strength, Robert and Kym brought an amazing connection yet again, and Nastia had incredible athleticism.
Team Trouble- Freestyle
Rumer and Val, Riker and Allison, Patti and Artem, Chris and Witney
Trouble by Iggy Azalea featuring Jennifer Hudson
Score: 10, 9, 10, 10 (39) Highest Team Score of the Night
My Score: 10
This team really was diverse, and it seemed like an odd bunch of people. However, when they got on stage, they showed how all of their differences can come together to create an extremely entertaining performance. Th ething that I think separated Team Trouble and Team YOLO is that while Team YOLO was more technical, Team Trouble was more entertaining. Rumer was fierce, Chris really loosened up and improved to his strengths, Riker was energetic and goofy, and Patti was the glue of the dance that provided for a fun and hilarious leading woman!
