So I tweeted out a poll about what scores you would have given each couple from the season 24 premiere of Dancing With the Stars. And from the responses on it, I could tell that there was a wide range of disagreements. But there was a consensus of a most popular score given for each dance, and while some of them matched what the judges gave, others did not.
Here are the results.
[Order of the Judges’ Scores: Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, Bruno Tonioli]
Normani and Val received 7, 6, 7, 6 for a total of 27/40. You guys gave them a 7. There seems to be a general agreement there, except for the grumpy ol’ Len Goodman.
Nancy and Artem received 7, 7, 7, 7 for a total of 28/40. You guys gave them an 8. This is just further evidence that the couple to dance second during the premiere tends to be underscored.
Chris and Witney received 5, 4, 4, 4 for a total of 17/40. You guys gave them a 4. No surprise there. But I like the fact that one lone person gave them a seven. :D
Bonner and Sharna received 6, 5, 5, 6 for a total of 24/40. You guys gave them a 5. You guys agreed with the two harsher judges of the night.
Charo and Keo received 6, 5, 5, 5 for a total of 21/40. You guys gave them a 5. Not too much disagreement there.
Nick and Peta received 6, 6, 6, 6 for a total of 24/40. You guys gave them a 7. It was close between a six and a seven, but I guess that the slight majority believed that they were underscored.
Heather and Maks received 7, 7, 7, 7 for a total of 28/40. You guys gave them an 8. This was another one where you guys gave a higher score than the judges. This might have been an effect of high expectations for Heather as a dancer right off the bat.
David and Lindsay received 7, 7, 7, 7 for a total of 28/40. You guys gave them a 7. Sevens all around!
Erika and Gleb received 6, 6, 6, 6 for a total of 24/40. You guys gave them a 6. It’s interesting to see the bell curve of votes between giving her a seven to giving her an eight.
Rashad and Emma received 8, 7, 8, 8 for a total of 31/40. You guys gave them an 8. This was the only one where some of you guys voted for the couple to get a ten-- two of you, to be exact!
Mr. T and Kym received 5, 5, 5, 5 for a total of 20/40. You guys gave them a 5. A lot of you voted for lower scores, but a few of you begged to differ!
Simone and Sasha received 8, 8, 8, 8 for a total of 32/40. You guys gave them an 8. And with no surprise, the last dance of the night received the highest score from the judges!
